STAGES
• Initially, the new building was going to be built close to the bridge to prevent the Grønland trelast building from being demolished
• Highways imposed a 50 m distance requirement (disp. did not accept it)
• Later, the municipality demanded that the new building be adjacent to the area where Grønland trelast sits, that is, the street (Neumans gate).
•At this stage, the Masjid was turned towards the Qibla in the plans.
CURRENT AND PLANNED CONDITION OF THE LAND
• Demolition of both buildings has been finalized
• The wall between the two plots will be removed
• It will be allocated as a common green area and playground to the tenants of both buildings.
• Negotiations continue with the highways department to provide vehicle parking between 35m and 50m from the bridge.
• Zoning works are continuing and the final stage has been reached for the official application to the municipality.
